SHINING To Continue Collaboration With ANDY LA ROCQUE's SONIC TRAIN STUDIOS
September 24, 2012Swedish extreme metallers SHINING will continue their highly successful collaboration with KING DIAMOND guitarist Andy La Rocque's Sonic Train Studios in Varberg, Sweden,
Both the SHINING EP "Lots Of Girls Gonna Get Hurt" and the band's soon-to-be-released full-length album, "Redefining Darkness", were produced and recorded by Andy at Sonic Train.
Pre-production for the next SHINING album will happen in September 2013 and the recording will start around November 2013.
Originally planned for January-February 2013, the pre-production has been postponed as SHINING is busy with promotion and tour plans. This also means that Sonic Train Studios still have some highly sought-after studio time available for 2013.
SHINING's eighth album, "Redefining Darkness", is due out on October 29 through Spinefarm Records.
SHINING recently announced the addition of two new touring members — Euge Valovirta on guitar and Rainer Tuomikanto on drums.
SHINING in May released an EP of cover songs with a choice of material that came as a surprise to many of the band's fans. The four-track EP, titled "Lots of Girls Gonna Get Hurt", included tracks from KATATONIA, KENT, IMPERIET and POETS OF THE FALL.
